We can announce our pre-season schedule as we prepare for the commencement of the 23/24 campaign.
The Reds will face opposition ranging from the National League to Sky Bet Championship ahead of the start of the 23/24 season on the weekend of 5/6 August.
Michael Duff's men will begin their summer with a trip to Worksop Town on Saturday 1 July, kicking off at 3pm.
Our opening opponents come into the clash high in confidence following a title-winning campaign in which they amassed 99 points in the Northern Premier League Premier Division. Sandy Lane was also the destination of our first pre-season game ahead of the 22/23 season - Michael Duff's first game in charge resulting in a 3-1 win for the Reds.
The following week we travel to the Lancashire coast to face AFC Fylde on Saturday 8 July (kick off TBC). The Coasters are also on the crest of a wave, winning the National League North title in 22/23 and begin to look ahead to start a new campaign in the National League.
It's an evening in Guiseley for a Reds XI on Tuesday 11 July (7.45pm kick off). A common fixture for the Reds, the trip to Nethermoor often sees a largely experimental side given valuable minutes midway through pre-season.
A midweek match-up with Hull City awaits the Reds on Tuesday 18 July, getting underway at 7:45pm at the MKM Stadium. The Tigers finished strongly in 22/23, losing just once in the final nine games of the Championship, and look to begin their first full season under the stewardship of Liam Rosenior.
We ramp up our preparations on Saturday 22 July, as we welcome Blackburn Rovers in a 3pm kick off at Oakwell. Rovers finished 7th in last season's Sky Bet Championship, and Jon Dahl Tomasson's side will be looking to provide stern opposition for the Reds just two weeks before the start of the new campaign.
Mansfield Town are our penultimate opponents, the Reds visiting the One Call Stadium on Tuesday 25 July in a 7pm kick off. Nigel Clough's side narrowly missed out on a play-off place last year in League Two and will be looking to go one better this time out.
One week before the Sky Bet League One curtain-raiser we face Crewe Alexandra at Oakwell in our final pre-season game, kicking off at 3pm on Saturday 29 July. We last met the Railwaymen just seven months ago at home - emerging as 3-0 victors in our FA Cup second-round tie.
