With the Women's World Cup on the horizon, the journey of our Barnsley FC own Women's team has begun, starting pre-season preparations ahead of the upcoming season.
Training times, matchdays and player training support are all being worked into the calendar alongside both the Men's First Team and our Academy teams here at Oakwell.
The Women's team's training will be led by our UEFA accredited coaches. Recognising the significance of sports science in optimising performance, we have dedicated resources to provide our Women's players with comprehensive sports science provisions, a physiotherapy programme, gym memberships and access to comprehensive fitness training. Performance analysis will play an important role in both player and team development.
Barnsley FC Women will wear the Club's official Puma 23/24 kits for games and training. VFILES, Rapid Response Telecoms and DX have come on board as valued team partners.
Commercially speaking, individual player sponsorship opportunities will be available in the coming weeks.
"As we start our work together to build out our first team and our Women's division, the most important focus right now is how can we develop and support our players and provide them with the opportunities, match experience, training and wellness support that they need to become successful." Barnsley FC Director, Julie Anne Quay commented.
An enhanced media programme is in development as well as a potential tour.
