Our Head of Sports Science reckons the signs are promising for Barnsley FC's Women's squad ahead of the 23/24 season.
"There's so much capacity for us to grow as a club, as a team and individually. It's fantastic to be a part of this exciting programme."
Our preparations continue on the training ground for the Women's team ahead of a new season, following last term's title-winning campaign.
With the players training regularly at Oakwell now having been fully brought under the Barnsley FC umbrella, Head of Sports Science, Nick Botten feels that improvements are already evident during pre-season.
"They've had a good few weeks now, getting back into the swing of things, getting used to running around again," Botten explained.
"We have them doing programmes designed to help them aerobically. It's about improving their fitness at a safe level at this stage.
"The girls are completely new to this sort of thing, they've never had that experience of sports science, S&C (strength and conditioning), and we've been impressed at how they've acclimatised so far."
