Jasper Moon has today joined Burton Albion in a permanent deal for an undisclosed fee.
The defender departs Oakwell after arriving as a scholar in June 2017, progressing through the ranks and making his first-team debut in December of 2020.
Khaled El-Ahmad, Barnsley FC CEO, commented: "Jasper is a player who has developed both on the pitch and as a human being during his time at Oakwell.
"His progression through the age groups is testament to the academy coaches and the player pathway we have established at the Club.
"We thank Jasper for all his efforts whilst at Barnsley and wish him the best of luck for the future."
The 22-year-old thanked the Reds fans for all their support: "I just want to say thank you to everyone involved at Barnsley FC for the last six years of my life and career. It has been a pleasure playing for the town.
"From moving there at 16 to now leaving at 22, it's been an incredible journey with some ups and downs; they made me the player I am today.
"I want to personally thank the academy coaches who helped push me into the first team and made me a better player, but overall, a better person.
"Thank you, Barnsley FC. See you soon."
