Barnsley Football Club is delighted to announce the signing of Ben Killip.
The goalkeeper arrives at Oakwell on a free transfer following his departure from Hartlepool United at the end of last season.
Since making his debut in August 2016 for Norwich City U23s during their EFL Trophy campaign, the 27-year-old has gone onto make 200 appearances in all competitions, featuring for Grimsby Town, Braintree Town and Hartlepool.
He was part of the United side that won promotion to Sky Bet League Two via the National League play-offs as they beat Torquay United on penalties at Ashton Gate.
Upon putting pen to paper on a deal that runs until 2024 with an option of a further year, Killip stated: “I’m delighted to be here. It’s a massive Club and they had an amazing season last season and, unfortunately, fell short, but hopefully we can go one better this time.
“I had a couple of phone calls with Tom Fawdry [Director of Goalkeeping] and got on really well with him; he told me his ideas and beliefs, how he wanted to work, how the goalkeeping group works and what he sees for me for the season going forward, which all aligned with me.
“Hopefully I can come in here and play as many games as I possibly can.”
