After joining the ranks at Oakwell, new recruit Andy Dallas sat down to discuss his arrival with iFollow Barnsley.
The striker has penned a three-year deal with BFC, departing Solihull Moors at the end of his contract this summer.
With a point to prove, the 24-year-old is eager to get to work with his new teammates and the coaching staff at Oakwell.
"I'm buzzing," smiled the 24-year-old. "I'm just happy to get myself in the door and get my head down.
"I'm looking forward to the season ahead."
Dallas arrives fresh from a fruitful campaign in the National League with both the Moors and Chesterfield, netting on 21 occasions in 50 appearances.
One of those strikes came in the National League Play-Off Final at Wembley in May, the Scot's consecutive appearance in the showpiece event at the home of football.
Dallas has been unfortunate enough to be on the losing side on both occasions, but likewise to the Reds, he knows the emotions involved with such defeats and how they can be turned into fuel for the upcoming campaign.
"As much as it is such a negative, it does just burn deep inside you."
"I was much better going into the second one [final] than the first," he discussed. "You learn from these experiences. You know about it deep down, and that's your hunger for future experiences.
"As much as it is such a negative, it does just burn deep inside you," Dallas continued. "It kind of makes you think you never want that feeling again. In five years' time, when you're looking back at these experiences, they make you the player you turn out to be.
"But definitely, to avoid that feeling, it's going to make you run a bit harder, work a bit harder."
