Making the switch from Tampa Bay to Barnsley, it has been quite the week for our new Head Coach.
The 39-year-old has signed a two-year deal to take the helm at Oakwell following a long and successful spell in the States with Florida-based Tampa Bay Rowdies in the USL Championship.
On his first day at Oakwell as Reds Head Coach, Collins recognised the challenge that lies ahead and emphasised his desire to get to work ahead of the 23/24 season which begins in just under four weeks.
"It's quite surreal," began the Scotsman. "Just because of how quickly it happened. If you'd have told me 10 days ago that I would be sat here I wouldn't have believed you. But I am, and I'm so excited.
"There's no getting away from the fact the season starts soon - we've got to be aware of that. The big thing for me is to watch the players up close and build on the aspects we had last year. Day by day, trying to get better.
"I'm looking to come in and try and make parts of the team better, individuals better and obviously myself better."
