Since signing on the dotted line for the Reds in July 2022, it has been an eventful year for Nicky Cadden.
43 appearances, a Wembley visit and a newborn son later, the Scotsman sat down to speak with iFollow Barnsley to reflect on the past twelve months.
"The lads in there are class," he praised when asked about the reaction following the final defeat. "We don't change. Obviously, we're all gutted about what happened at the end of last season. But, we're all focusing on this season.
"There's no point crying over spilt milk."
The Reds returned from their summer break on 26 June and had played twice at the time of the interview against Worksop Town and AFC Fylde respectively.
Our wing-back spoke of the 'dread' as a player returning after the off-season due to the extreme physical demands exerted upon the squad.
"It's been good," replied the 26-year-old. "It's always never as hard as you think it's going to be. We never had a lot of time off compared to other teams so I don't think you lose as much fitness.
"It's good to get back into the swing of things and prepare for the season."
