Fabio Jalo has received a call-up for the latest Portugal U18s training camp, which will take place from Monday 23 to Thursday 26 January.
The 17-year-old striker made his senior debut earlier this season in our EFL Cup victory at Middlesbrough and went onto score his first professional goals as the Reds beat Doncaster Rovers 4-2 in the Papa John’s Trophy.
In total, the Lisbon-born youngster has featured 12 times under Michael Duff in all competitions – including seven substitute appearances in Sky Bet League One.
Jalo has also scored 10 goals in 16 games across our U21s and U18s this term as he continues to catch the eye at academy level.
“I’m thrilled that Fabio has been recognised at international level,” said Academy Manager, Bobby Hassell.
“His development over the last few years has been excellent, which is a testament to his character and dedication to continue improving and taking on the advice of the coaching staff here at Oakwell, who also deserve massive credit for helping to bring him through.
“We’re delighted with how he is progressing and hopefully this will be another step in the right direction for him.”
