Barnsley Football Club can confirm that Jack Aitchison has joined Motherwell FC.
The 22-year-old departs Oakwell after arriving in 2020 from Scottish giants Celtic FC. Making 23 appearances for the Reds, the attacker enjoyed loan spells at Forest Green Rovers and Stevenage, before featuring heavily under Michael Duff this campaign.
The striker most notably scored a last-minute winner away from home against Fleetwood Town this season, securing three points on the road for the Reds. Aitchison scored on his final appearance for the Club, netting in our 3-1 victory against Accrington Stanley.
His hard-work and relentless nature when leading the line was an integral part of the Reds’ play, and in joining the Steelmen returns to his native Scotland.
Upon departing Oakwell, Aitchison showed his appreciation for his time at the Club: “I would like to thank the Head Coach, coaching team, all the staff and fans for my time at Barnsley . I wish you all the best for the future!”
