Becoming our fifth signing of the January transfer window, discover more about Scottish striker Oli Shaw.

Born on 12 March 1998, Shaw hails from the Barnton area of Scottish capital, Edinburgh. The son of former footballer Greg Shaw, our latest recruit already had football in his DNA.

Shaw initially joined Heart of Midlothian as a youngster, before making the switch to the other half of Edinburgh, linking up with Hibernian in 2013.

Progressing through the ranks at Easter Road, Shaw was given his debut in a Scottish League Cup match against Montrose, coming off the bench in a 3-0 win for Hibs.

Shaw quickly established himself as a promising young player and was named the Scottish Professional Football League's Young Player of the Month for December 2016. He scored his first goal for the club in a Scottish Cup match against Ayr United in January 2017.

The 24-year-old continued to impress with his performances for Hibernian, becoming a regular starter in the team. He also represented Scotland at the under 19 and under 21 levels.

In 2018, Shaw signed a new contract with Hibernian, which tied him to the club until 2021. He also scored his first goal in the Scottish Premiership in October 2018 against St. Johnstone.

Shaw made 25 appearances and scored six goals as Hibernian finished third in the Scottish Premiership, earning a Europa League Qualification spot in the process. The following season, Shaw once again enjoyed a productive campaign, netting nine times in 31 appearances.

Known for his ability to score goals and hold the ball up, Shaw enjoys linking the play in the attacking third. In his first move to England, the 6’ 2” striker will be looking to make a mark for the Reds in the second half of the Sky Bet League One campaign.
