After signing on the dotted line for the Reds, Barry Cotter sat down to talk to iFollow Barnsley for an exclusive interview.
The Irishman penned a deal at Oakwell until the summer of 2026, joining from League of Ireland outfit Shamrock Rovers.
Cotter becomes our third addition of the January transfer window and spoke of his excitement in getting started with Michael Duff and the team.
"It's a huge club, there's great history," he said. "I know it's a great opportunity. It looks like it's a great squad and it looks like they're in great hands - I'm over the moon!"
The 24-year-old has demonstrated versatility throughout his career so far, playing in several positions across his career both in his native Ireland and England.
However, Cotter believes there is one position that allows him to impact the game most effectively, utilising his physical attributes.
"I would like to say right wing-back - you get the best of both worlds," discussed Cotter. "Attacking, defending, I like to do a bit of skill. I also like to give a hard tackle - that's the Irish coming out in me! I'd like to say I'm exciting, athletic."
