Young defender to step up his return to fitness with short spell at Alfreton Town.
Barnsley Football Club can confirm the loan departure of 20-year-old full-back Charlie Winfield, who today links up with Alfreton Town.
The left-sided defender last season suffered a terrible knee injury after a positive spell in Denmark on loan with Esbjerg. Since making a successful recovery - aided by some impressive recent U21 appearances - Charlie now links up with Alfreton for a month's youth loan.
Winfield goes straight into the Derbyshire-based outfit's squad for tomorrow's game against Hereford United away from home.
Alfreton currently sit 10th in National League North and just five points separate them from the top six.
