After a positive week where Club and fanbase came together, we'd like to thank Reds supporters for their commitment this afternoon.
It's always positive when the Reds pick up three points, as they did once more against Cambridge United today. But just as impressive was the performance, and it's the Club's opinion that it was aided massively by the backing from the stands.
Over the last week or so, we have trialled and introduced a number of initiatives aimed towards improving the matchday experience. The Reds FanZone returned, Toby Tyke is back, various partners providing quality food and beverages alongside musicians and support staff.
But most importantly today, Reds supporters delivered.
"I asked our supporters to come together and they did." The words of Chief Executive, Khaled El-Ahmad, who - alongside fellow director Julie Anne Quay - cheered from the Ponty End.
"It was a great experience for Julie Anne and I, we both lost our voices as one cannot help but be caught up by the atmosphere. And what an atmosphere.
"It's fantastic to see everyone trying to contribute, and I am a firm believer that it played a big part in today's result.
"I hope that we can continue like this, keep building on the momentum and show that we are quality and competitive on and off the field," Khaled concluded.
