HARRY ISTED REVIEWS 'PERFECT' REDS DEBUT

12 February 2023

After earning himself a clean sheet on his first Reds appearance - a victory over Cambridge United - Harry Isted spoke to iFollow Barnsley!

"It's difficult going down to ten, especially psychologically, but the lads stuck together and deserved the result."

It's difficult to imagine a better debut than that experienced by our new goalkeeper in yesterday afternoon's 2-0 victory in Sky Bet League One.

On-loan from Luton Town until the end of the season, Harry Isted shut out the opposition and played his part in 10-man Barnsley's three-point pick-up against the struggling U's at Oakwell on Saturday.

"I didn't have a lot to do to be honest," Isted told us, post-match.

"The opposition didn't have a shot on goal in the first half, so credit to the backline in front of me. A bit of long kicking, a save in the second half, that was about it really!"

Thrown in for a debut after injury to Brad Collins, the 25-year-old stopper believes the performance second half should please all involved.

"We went to a back four," he explained. "They were looking to hit diagonal balls, play off the seconds, but it didn't cause us too many problems.

"They were unable to play through us and then we get the second goal and I felt it was pretty comfortable at that point."

You can watch all of Harry's post-match interview on iFollow Barnsley, which at £4.49 per month represents outstanding value in keeping up to date with everything going on behind-the-scenes here at Oakwell.
