After registering a goal and an assist at Vale Park on Tuesday evening, Luca Connell spoke exclusively to iFollow Barnsley after our 3-1 win in Sky Bet League One.
It was a perfect start to the match for the Reds, with Connell finding the back of the net inside just 30 seconds with a sumptuous strike on the volley.
The hosts pegged us back briefly before Liam Kitching nodded home a pinpoint delivery from the 21-year-old midfielder before the break. Adam Phillips rounded off proceedings in the second half with an emphatic volley of his own to ensure the three points came back to South Yorkshire.
Connell got his second goal of the campaign in Burslem on Tuesday, his first Reds goal also coming on the volley on the road against Peterborough. He praised the team's early intent and attitude.
"It was good to get off on the front foot," began Luca. "We wanted to do that, that's what the gaffer said, put them on the back foot as early as we can. Fortunately enough, I was the one to get the goal so I'm always happy with that."
