After scoring a brace in our 4-1 win against the Rams, Devante Cole spoke exclusively to iFollow Barnsley.
In front of over 17,000 fans, Adam Phillips and Luke Thomas added to our number 44's goals for the afternoon at Oakwell, securing the Reds' fourth consecutive win in Sky Bet League One.
"Everyone is buzzing with the win!" he opened. "The manager told us that we needed to start on the front foot and I think we did exactly that. We had a game-plan and I feel we executed it to perfection, really."
Cole's last goal came back in our 2-0 victory over Burton Albion in December, with the striker hitting the back of the net at Portsmouth, only for the goal to be ruled out due to a foul in the build-up.
Despite the lack of goals in recent weeks, Cole has kept his head up and continued to lead the press from the front - something that is integral to how the Reds play.
"I think it's been coming," discussed Cole. "Obviously, I've had a bit of a spell where I haven't scored in a while. But, I always knew that if I keep playing well and just stay on it, it's going to come. Two have come today and I'm very happy with that."
