John McAtee spoke to iFollow Barnsley after scoring in our 2-1 victory over Stevenage at Oakwell.
The 24-year-old netted his fifth goal in the last six games as he levelled up proceedings just after the half-hour mark following the visitors' early opener.
It was an audacious lob, taken within two touches and left the Stevenage 'keeper with no chance and was followed by the customary acrobatic celebration from the Luton loanee.
McAtee felt the performance showed the Reds' progression as a team this campaign and explained how the stunning equaliser came about.
"If we'd have played that game a month ago, I'm not sure we'd have come away with a victory, but it shows we're learning. I thought we defended very well, obviously there were some sticky patches but there always is going to be when they're sticking it on you like that."
"It's a nice little ball, we've worked on it in training quite a bit. Trying to get in behind and into the spaces. I've took my touch, had a look up and the 'keeper is off his line. I've just gone for it and thankfully it's gone in."
