REDS LOOK TO SET UP FAN ADVISORY GROUP

7 December 2023

Barnsley FC are looking to set up a new 'Fan Advisory Group' which will meet once a month to discuss matters, both on and off the field, that are important to you, the fans.

Meetings will be held at Oakwell and will be chaired by the CEO alongside different senior members of staff dictated by the agenda for each month.

We have reached out to our established supporter groups and asked them to provide a candidate for the Fan Advisory Group and we would also like any supporter interested in being involved to apply via email to reception@barnsleyfc.co.uk outlining in their own words the advice and support they are able to provide and who they represent. If you are unable to email us, please feel free to communicate with John Bird, Head of Ticketing and Fan Engagement, in person at the club.

We want to bring together a diverse group with representatives from (but not limited to):

  • Different age-ranges
  • Different genders
  • Disabled fans
  • Season Ticket Holders
  • Non-Season Ticket Holders
  • Fans who regularly travel to away games
  • Groups of fans
  • International/overseas fans
  • Hospitality members
  • Women's Team and Academy fans
  • Fans who can represent different cultures, backgrounds and beliefs

Interim CEO Jon Flatman said: "I fully understand the importance of communication and consultation as we all want the club to grow and be better. The emphasis must be on the club to bring our loyal supporters together to help us improve the experience for everyone with the ultimate aim of getting behind the team.

"We are committed to engaging, listening to your feedback and ultimately acting on it. We are all custodians and this can be a really positive way to improve our communications because I firmly believe that everyone from the board to the fans and the players all want the same thing - success."

We would like applications for the Fan Advisory Group to be submitted by midnight on 31st December so we can look to have a group in place to meet at the end of January.
