Neill Collins spoke to iFollow Barnsley after the Reds emerged victorious in a 2-1 win against Stevenage.
In our final game at Oakwell in 2023, the Reds had to come from behind to secure all three points against an in-form Stevenage team.
The visitors took the lead inside the opening ten minutes, before John McAtee levelled the scoring with an audacious lobbed effort just after the half-hour mark.
In what was Norman Rimmington Memorial match, fitting then the winner be scored in front of the great man's 'Ponty End', Herbie Kane's deflected effort nestling in the back of the net after 70 minutes to seal all three points just before Christmas Day.
Our Head Coach provided his assessment of the clash:
"Really pleased with the character we showed. Stevenage make it really difficult. But I thought, to a man, we defended for our lives at times. But then also when we got the quality right, we were good.
"After a poor start in both halves, we got it going and showed our quality. So great three points, but only just the start of what is going to be a busy period."
