Our Head Coach spoke to iFollow Barnsley after the Reds picked up three points on Boxing Day against Port Vale.
A dominant first-half display saw the Reds go into the break with a three goal advantage after Adam Phillips' cushioned header and John McAtee's sublime brace.
"Obviously, there's lots about the second half that we're not too pleased about, but I've got to give the players a lot of credit for their first-half performance."
The hosts fought back in the second half but Collins' side saw the game out to deliver a late Christmas present to the travelling Barnsley contingent.
The 40-year-old was full of praise for how the Reds started the affair and said there were improvements to be made on the second-half performance.
"Great three points. Great goals. We sent our fans home happy. Obviously, there's lots about the second half that we're not too pleased about, but I've got to give the players a lot of credit for their first-half performance. Lots of lessons to learn from the second-half."
