NEILL COLLINS REFLECTS ON POSH POINT

30 December 2023

Our Head Coach spoke to iFollow Barnsley after the Reds drew 2-2 with Peterborough United on Friday night.

Herbie Kane opened the scoring at the Weston Homes Stadium on ten minutes, added to by Devante Cole just after the half-hour mark.

The hosts got one back just before the break through Jonson Clarke-Harris, who then went onto double his tally in the second half to ensure the spoils were shared in the final game of 2023.

Collins was disappointed not to come away with all three points, but was pleased with his side's performance.

“No one is happy in that changing room about losing a two-goal lead. The goals could have been better, but if you consider how the game went. We conceded them against the run of play on both occasions. We retaliated in the perfect way, we should have made it three, but we didn’t. I think the biggest pluses tonight, just the performance. There are things we need to do better, because that performance should have resulted in three points but it didn’t. The players should be proud, the fans reaction, they were proud of the players tonight.”

The full post-match interview with Neill Collins is now available on iFollow Barnsley.
