Jonathan Bland chatted with iFollow Barnsley to preview our U18s' third round FA Youth Cup tie against Lincoln City.
We welcome the Imps in a 6:30pm kick-off at Oakwell for a place in the fourth round of the competition after the Reds played out an entertaining 3-2 win against Bradford City in the previous game.
However, the Reds want to demonstrate a more clincal side to their performance under the lights on Friday according to the skipper.
"It's the most prestigious competition for my age," he began. "Every year you go into it just looking forward to it. Week in, week out. We had one last week and the moment we found out there was going to be one this week, the boys were buzzing again.
"We made it a bit tough for ourselves in the last round to be honest. I thought we were the better team but we invited pressure in the second half and I think that's it. Once you're on top, you've got to be ruthless, clincal. That's why we did so well. It's just that killing instinct. Once you smell blood, you've got to go for it."
