COREY O'KEEFFE SPEAKS AHEAD OF WIGAN CLASH

24 August 2023

The wing-back spoke to the media ahead of our trip to Greater Manchester on Saturday to face Wigan Athletic in Sky Bet League One.

ON RECOVERY FROM INJURY

"Yeah, good! It feels back to normal now. I feel fit, I've been training this week and I feel good. At the end of last week I was doing bits and bobs on the grass and it was feeling OK. Then this week I've been in full training and it feels very good."

ON TIMING OF THE INJURY

"Obviously, I was buzzing to get going and then I started, done OK, got the assist and then wanted to kick on from there. My leg wouldn't let me carry on. As I say, it's been two or three weeks now and I feel good. Rested it and it's ready to go."

ON GETTING USED TO LIFE AT OAKWELL

"I've been seeing a lot around the place since I've been injured, in the gym and I've seen other members of staff when the lads are out training. It just feels like a home. It feels really good, and now I'm back on the grass I'm happy."

ON HIS PLAYING STYLE

"I want to be on the front foot, aggressive, that's my game - assists. I try to create chances for the team to win. I feel like there's going to be a lot more of that. I look forward to it."

ON WIGAN ATHLETIC

"They're a big club. They've got good players. As you can see, they're doing well. It's like any team in this league, you've got to respect them, but we're a good team as well. We're not going there thinking 'Wigan are doing really well'. Obviously, we've got to respect that, but we want to do well and we want to go and take the game to them."
