Barnsley Football Club can confirm the loan signing of John McAtee from Luton Town until the end of the season.
The 24-year-old links up with the Reds after a successful summer with the Hatters as they prepared for the start of their Premier League campaign under Rob Edwards.
McAtee was also part of the Grimsby Town squad that made history last term as the Mariners featured in the Emirates FA Cup quarter-finals – the first side from the fourth tier to reach that stage of the competition since 1990.
Speaking exclusively to iFollow Barnsley, the attacker expressed his eagerness to make his mark with the Reds: “The move has been in the pipeline for quite a while.
“I was buzzing to come down and get it all sorted.”
Barnsley FC CEO, Khaled El-Ahmad, added: “We are happy to welcome John to Oakwell.
“We wish him all the best during his time with the club and look forward to seeing him in action out on the pitch.”
