Luca Connell was included in the PFA League One Team of the Year as part of Tuesday night's ceremony in Salford.
Following an impressive debut campaign with the Reds, our central midfielder was recognised for his performances by his fellow players, earning a spot in the annual starting eleven of the year for the division.
After receiving the award at the star-studded ceremony at the Lowry Theatre, Connell thanked his teammates for their part in a memorable campaign for the Reds:
"It's brilliant. It's always good to get the individual awards, but you've got to thank your teammates and the staff that help you get them. I couldn't do it without them.
"On a personal note, I'm happy with it."
Luca has been a notable absentee for the Reds this campaign, suffering from an illness since the back end of pre-season.
However, the 22-year-old provided a positive update on his health and spoke of his eagerness to get back in action with the team.
"First of all, no one is raring to get back more than me! It's been driving me mad, I'm feeling better, feeling healthier again, and hopefully I can get back training soon and get back on the pitch before we know it."
