Theo Chapman spoke to the press ahead of Tuesday night's Carabao Cup Round One clash with Tranmere Rovers at Oakwell.
ON MAKING HIS LEAGUE DEBUT ON SATURDAY
"We're enjoying it at the moment. It's good to be in and around the first team and I'm just happy to make my debut.
"Very, very proud. I've been here for ten, eleven years now. Just to get that opportunity, I'm obviously over the moon. Grateful for the opportunities.
"My Dad, my Grandma and Grandad were there, my mum couldn't make it, but just having them there was special."
ON A BIG SUMMER FOR THE YOUNGSTER
"It's all gone quite quickly, to be honest from that play-off final (U18s). Obviously, getting that enjoyment there and then coming back in pre-season. I had a little injury in that final so I had to get back fit, I was in over the off-season.
"But then being with the first-team throughout I just had to work every day, work hard and continue what I'm doing well. Hopefully, hope for some chances."
ON MENTAL APPROACH GOING FORWARD
"I've just got to maintain my high standards in training, work hard, try and do all the things I'm good at. Continue to learn every day.
"I take it step by step, really. If I get the call-up (to the First Team) I'm ready. Just being in and around the First Team it's a great opportunity for me to learn and just taking it a step at a time."
ON POTENTIALLY MAKING A START FOR THE REDS
"You do look forward to it. Obviously, I've had my taste of coming out onto Oakwell in the U18 play-off semi-final and final.
"It's a good fan culture here. They're always behind the young lads, the ones who live close in and around Barnsley. You're just very grateful that you've got fans like that."
