The wing-back previewed Saturday's season opener for the assembled press at Oakwell.
ON HOW PRE-SEASON WENT
"Yeah, it's been good. I don't feel like we've had that long off to be honest, but it's been good. I've enjoyed it, been back with the boys and getting back in the changing room with the banter."
ON HOW THE NEW SIGNINGS HAVE SETTLED INTO THE SQUAD
"Yeah I think so (on if they've settled in well). They all seem like really nice lads as well. Yeah, it's good, and you can see that they're good players on the training pitch as well.
"You tend to get to know people in football really quickly because you're spending basically all day with each other and playing with each other on the pitch. You sort of know them from playing against them as well and you know people that have played with them so you give them a text to see what his character is like and stuff. Basically give them a background check without telling them!"
ON TRANSITION UNDER NEW COACHING STAFF
"They've both had really good careers football-wise. Michael Duff and 'Patto' (Martin Paterson) were really good with us as a group as well. They've come in and to be honest I think it's been quite seamless. On the training pitch as well, it feels like it's working out for us. It's going to be good this year if we implement what he wants us to do."
ON PORT VALE CLASH
"Any game where anybody comes to Oakwell, we'll fancy ourselves. We had good home form last year and hopefully we can carry that on into this year. Obviously, Port Vale will be a good test. They've always been really rugged and really hard to beat. I don't think it will be any different on Saturday. They'll be coming here to start off their season well and get three points. We want to stop them and get the three points ourselves in front of a home crowd."
