DUFF REVIEWS VICTORY AGAINST FOREST GREEN ROVERS

15 April 2023

Our Head Coach was pleased with the clinical nature of his side's performance this afternoon in Nailsworth.

"You always want more. So there's that tinge of disappointment. But we were ruthless, relentless and as I've just said to them in there - it's hard to win away from home. How often do you win 5-1 away from home? So I'm pleased. We were professional and we move onto Tuesday night now."

MICHAEL DUFF

When speaking to us post-match, Michael Duff was full of praise for how his Reds side handled the occasion, as he watched them blow their hosts away to secure another three points.

"I'm sure the supporters enjoyed it," he started. "A nice day out in the sun, five goals and a result, which is what we came for.

"It was a professional display. I wasn't too happy with the first 15 minutes if I'm honest. But you have to credit the opposition, and I think we've done well not to get caught up in what might happen.

"We were clinical."

Having replaced his front two for this one, there were perhaps a few raised eyebrows here and there. But with all three strikers used today getting on the scoresheet, it shows the depth available in the squad right now.

Duff remarked: "It doesn't always work out like that. But I've always said, we don't just roll out the same 11 players. We went bigger today. We thought we'd be a threat at set plays. When you look at the six players attacking the ball in there, the smallest is Nors (James Norwood).

"As away days go, it's as good as you could ask for, and, pretty stress free for me as well!"
