AWAY DAY GUIDE | BURTON ALBION

6 April 2023

We make the 66 mile trip to the Pirelli Stadium as we face Burton Albion in Sky Bet League One on Easter Monday.

The Reds will walk out to a full away end on Good Friday, with over 1,600 Reds fans set to back Michael Duff and his side in East Staffordshire. Thank you for your fantastic support!

The below guide will provide more information about our trip to Burton Albion on Good Friday including access information and travel news.

Pirelli Stadium

The ground was built in 2005 on the former site of the Pirelli UK Tyres Ltd Sports & Social Club, having had the land donated to the club by Pirelli, in return for naming rights.

The stadium has a capacity of 6,912, the record attendance coming in a Sky Bet Championship meeting between Derby County and the Brewers in 2016.

How to get there

By Car

The postcode is DE13 0BH.

Car parking

Parking is available at the Pirelli Stadium for 400 vehicles at a cost of £5 per vehicle.

Supporters can also park in the Ryknild Industrial Estate for £5 (DE14 1RZ). Please note - parking cannot be pre-booked and is based on a first come, first served basis. Cash is collected on the day by the stewards on the main gate.

By Train

Burton Railway Station is around a mile and a half away from the Pirelli Stadium.

- As you come out of the station turn left and go down the hill.

- Turn right into Derby Street and from there it is a straight road up to the stadium.

- It should take about 25 minutes to walk.

The Gaffer's Take

imageh20qi.png

Speaking to iFollow Barnsley, the gaffer said:

"Their home record is good. It's a really difficult pitch. People just look at the table and where they were at one point in the season, Dino's done a brilliant job to get them out. They won't think they're safe yet, because you never do when it is you. You'd imagine that they look like they've done enough. They need one more. We don't want it to be against us.

"They play aggressive, in-your-face style of football. So if you go there thinking it's going to be an easy ride then you'll come unstuck. I know they got beat by Peterborough, but other than that their home record has been pretty good recently. We'll go there fully aware of the challenges, but the main focus will be on us."

We wish a safe journey to all Reds making the trip to the Pirelli Stadium on Good Friday. Be sure to sing your hearts out and get behind the boys in this important Sky Bet League One clash.
