Barnsley Football Club is pleased to announce the loan signing of Tom Edwards until the end of the 22/23 season.
The 23-year-old defender links up with Michael Duff’s squad, moving from Stoke City, having been with the Staffordshire outfit since the age of eight.
Making 51 appearances for the Potters across the top two tiers of English football, the right-sided defender joined Fleetwood Town on loan in 2020.
After a season in Lancashire with the Cod Army, Edwards most recently spent time in the United States with New York Red Bulls, featuring 51 times for the American outfit under former Reds Head Coach Gerhard Struber.
Barnsley FC Chief Executive Officer, Khaled El-Ahmad, added: “We extend a warm welcome to Tom and are pleased to see him come through the door.
“Despite only being 23, Tom represents a player of experience, and we are looking forward to seeing his impact in this Barnsley team.”
“It's an amazing feeling," Tom smiled.
"I have been across the pond for a long time now, so to come back over to England and play for such a big club, I'm delighted.
"I've obviously come down today for the first time, I've really enjoyed my time and I'm just ready to get going."
