Barnsley Football Club is saddened to learn of the recent passing of our former player Peter Lawton (78).
One of our own, Peter Lawton worked his way up through the ranks at his beloved Barnsley Football Club and would make two first team appearances in the 1960's before leaving the club for Rugby Town.
Lawton (fourth from the right, middle row) would never lose his love for the Reds and watched the team as a season ticket holder right until the end.
Our thoughts as a Club at this time are with the Lawton family, his friends and loved ones.
