Our U18s face Sheffield Wednesday in the FA Youth Cup third round at Hillsborough on Wednesday evening.
Nicky Eaden’s side head into this encounter sitting top of the Professional Development League and in good form having won their last three games in all competitions.
Two of those victories were in this particular tournament – a 5-0 drubbing of Spennymoor Town at Oakwell before coming from behind to beat Scunthorpe United and reach this stage.
Their last outing perfectly summed up the mentality and desire of our current crop of youngsters as they battled back from 3-1 down to secure a memorable 4-3 win at Burnley.
Wednesday, meanwhile, have beaten Burton Albion and Derby County to progress to this round and are currently fifth in the table.
The two sides met at the end of October and played out a 0-0 draw on the Oakwell Training Ground.
