MADS ANDERSEN ON CREWE VISIT

25 November 2022

The skipper gave his thoughts ahead of our Emirates FA Cup second round tie with the Railwaymen.

ON CLASH WITH CREWE ALEXANDRA
“I think there’s loads to play for and hopefully we can win the game and get a good challenge in the next round to test ourselves.”

ON RECENT LEAGUE FORM
“I think we’ve done so much hard work and we are staying consistent, now we are gaining a bit of momentum and we just have to keep that going.”

ON MICHAEL DUFF
“It’s been great for me; he’s a defender, so I’ve learnt a lot from him, and I listen when he speaks. I think I’ve grown as a footballer, as well.

“When you have the one-on-one chats, you always get something out of it, and you can learn, so I think it’s good.

“He played at the highest level when he was older and played against fast and strong players, so it’s interesting to hear how he handled it.”

ON DEFENSIVE RELATIONSHIPS
“We get on very well with each other, and I think that’s a huge thing for a partnership as a centre-back – and you can tell, as well. But I also think the guys on the bench like Robbie, coming in, is a part of it, so I’m happy.”

ON DEFENSIVE RECORD
“The target is always to win the game. I’m happy when we have a clean sheet – I’m happy when they have one shot on target, after the game. But, of course, we strive for it as well because we know if we keep a clean sheet, there’s a possibility that we’ll score one or two goals and win the game.”

ON PERSONAL SEASON
“Consistency is what I strive for. I think I’ve grown, again; the gaffer came in and taught me a lot that I could use as a player, so I’m just trying to improve in every game and training session to get better.”
