MICHAEL DUFF LOOKS AHEAD TO SALOP CLASH

10 November 2022

The gaffer provided his thoughts to the assembled press ahead of our trip to Shrewsbury Town on Saturday in Sky Bet League One action.

ON INJURIES

"James Norwood isn't ready. I imagine at least a week or two weeks to go. He's not really on the grass yet. He's a good bit being from being ready.

"Since we've had the long-termers, we haven't really had another one. We've had a couple of niggly ones in Jordan Williams and Nors [James Norwood]. We haven't had a glut of injuries - that is a positive."

ON SLOBODAN TEDIC

"I think he deserves a goal, with his performances. He lost his way a little bit - we had a conversation with him. He's living in a different country, he's been on loan for the last three years, he's at one of the biggest clubs in the world. He's got a lot going on.

"You need to be ready when you get a chance in football. He's come in and he's done well. The cherry on the top now is to score the goal."

ON SHREWSBURY TOWN

"I went to watch them last night - they should have won the game. [Shrewsbury drew 1-1 with Oxford in Sky Bet League One action]. Oxford are a really good team.

"I know Steve [Cotterill] really well. They're always big, strong and organised. There's quality within that team, proven last night."

ON STEVE COTTERILL

"He's managed big, big football clubs. I know him personally because he has made a big impact on my career personally. They'll be organised, they'll have good detail on us.

"He picked me up by my bootstraps when I was 17, when I was at Cheltenham. Because of him, we got three promotions in five years, which managed to get me into League One from non-league.

"He has been a huge influence on that part of my career. I've got a lot to thank him for."
