MICHAEL DUFF ON BOLTON CUP CLASH

3 November 2022

Our gaffer spoke to the press ahead of our trip to Bolton Wanderers in Emirates FA Cup First Round action.

ON FOREST GREEN WIN

"It's important to back up the performance. We don't get too carried away with the noise. It was an OK performance last week. Much better, much improved - against lower opposition.

"But. that's what we've struggled against recently. Against the bigger teams, our performances have been OK, so we're trying to back it up again against one of the big boys."

ON INJURIES

"No bad injury news. Full complement other than the more long-standing ones. Wolfie [Matty Wolfe] and Jordan Helliwell have been on the grass this week, so that's a positive. When I say on the grass, I mean literally jogging around the grass.

"Luke Thomas is obviously a long way off, but he's starting to look a little bit more comfortable. He's still on his crutches, still in his boot. But, it doesn't look like every step hurts at the minute. That's another positive as well."

ON NOVEMBER SCHEDULE

"It's an opportunity to spend more time on the training ground. It's an opportunity for people to recover. We've had a really heavy run of Saturday-Tuesday games.

"It's an opportunity to work on things we need to fine-tune. We did a lot of work in pre-season on one shape and we did a lot of work on the 3-4-3. So. it's working out the areas in those formations."

ON BOLTON WANDERERS

"We know them quite well. It's as tough a draw as we could have probably got I reckon. I think they've got one of the best home league records in the league.

"It was a really tight game down there - there wasn't a lot of chances for either team. We're going there to try and win the game."
