On Sunday, we invited a number of supporters who have renewed their season tickets ahead of the 22/23 campaign to play on Oakwell alongside some Reds legends.
Neil Austin, Hugo Colace, Martin Devaney, Bruce Dyer, Wayne Goodison, Bobby Hassell, Paul Reid and Luke Steele all took to the hallowed turf alongside a select group of lucky fans, who also had the opportunity to ‘shoot for their seat’.
From 20-yards, the aim was to strike the ball through a hole in the top corner and win your 22/23 season ticket for free.
Six supporters in total managed to make the shot, meaning they got a full refund to watch the Reds next campaign.
Marketing, Commercial and Business Director, Andrew Clark said: “It was wonderful to see supporters enjoying themselves on the pitch with Barnsley legends and living the dream to play alongside their idols.
“The day itself was a great experience for everyone involved and we’re delighted that a few fans were able to win the ultimate prize of a free season ticket, which is just amazing.
“Thank you to everyone who entered this competition – we’re hoping to run something similar next year, and I’m sure it will be even bigger and better than this weekend!”
The Early Bird deadline for 22/23 season tickets is on Monday 16 May.
