MATTY WOLFE ON RAMS CLASH

4 March 2022

The midfielder helped preview Saturday's trip to Pride Park.

RETURNING TO THE FIRST TEAM

“It’s brilliant for me.”

“I never expected to return from my loan and end up straight into the first team. But the gaffer had me in from the first session and it’s gone from there.

“Like my dad told me, I’ve got the shirt now and I need to make sure I keep it. So that’s what I’m trying to do. I’m giving it a good bash and seeing what I can do.

“The loan was good for me, to get me regular games at professional level like that. It helped me grow as a person too, the experience.”

ON AMINE BASSI AND DOMINGOS QUINA

“Both Bassi and Quina have made a huge impact. They’re players we know can change the game. We give them the ball and they do their stuff, it’s working well - a perfect balance.

“They’re great las too, both are good fun and have fitted in well in the changing room which is key.”

SURVIVAL CHANCES

“We feel like we can get out of it. We’re feeling good and the performances have been there in recent weeks.

“We have to keep knocking on the door and hopefully others will slip up and we can take advantage of that.

“But the mood is optimistic.”

ON DERBY COUNTY

“They’ve been in poor form lately but without the deduction, they’d be much higher so we know that they’re a good side.

“But we’re a good side. The results haven’t matched our performances a lot this season from what I’ve seen. Now we’re getting the results.

“We’ll go there with confidence and hopefully come 6pm tomorrow we’re on the coach back to Barnsley with another big three points.”
