Claudio Gomes gave his thoughts ahead of our clash with Stoke City on Tuesday evening.
ON DERBY COUNTY GAME
“Everyone was disappointed about the result, but we just have to move on from that game and go forward. We have to stay positive and keep going on the way we have played. I know that result was tough to accept to lose against Derby, but now the game has finished, we have to keep moving because it’s been three days.
“We have a game every three days; we have to bounce straight back.”
ON DOMINGOS QUINA AND AMINE BASSI
“They have a lot of energy. They are good players with a lot of quality and skills, and they showed they can score, as well; that’s a good thing for the team.
“It’s easy to play with some players, like them, because they have a lot of qualities – they are such good players, both of them. They just bring a good energy to the team.
“I try to find both of them more in the game because I know they’re more effective and they’re dangerous players in the last third. So, it’s easy to play with some players like them.”
ON MATTY WOLFE
“He’s done really good. Even before he started to play, in training you could see he deserved to start some games. When he’s started, he’s made a really good impression.
“He gives us some balance to be more free when we attack and he’s good at defending. Even offensively, he’s a good player with a lot of qualities and it’s good to play with players like him.”
ON REGULAR GAME TIME
“It’s been a good season for me because I’ve played a lot, and that’s a good thing. But in terms of results and everything, I’m not happy – like everyone in the dressing room.
“But in terms of playing games, I have some minutes and that’s good. For me, it’s really important to be getting regular minutes because I want to play at the highest level possible and I think the Championship is a good step for me.
“I enjoy playing every game and I just have to keep going to play the maximum games I can.”
ON STOKE CITY GAME
“We have to be calm and just keep going like we did before. We’re playing at home in front of the fans; we know at home, the last two games we played really well. We just have to keep going, forget what’s happened against Derby and focus on this one, because we bounce back every three days now and don’t have to think about what we did before.”
