Barnsley Football Club are delighted to announce that the FanZone will be returning this Saturday for the Sky Bet Championship fixture against Reading.
Based in the East Stand Car Park, supporters can look forward to live music, whilst being able to enjoy cask ale from local favourites, alongside a range of soft drinks and craft beer, through the Barnsley Football Club Supporters Trust-run Redfearn’s Bar.
A first team player will also be available for a quick Q&A, sign autographs and pose for photos. Joe Beardsall and the Red All Over team will be on hand to preview the game and get your views ahead of kick-off.
Ben Lockwood, Barnsley FC Supporters Trust board member, is pleased that the popular FanZone feature is set to return: “After a difficult two years for everyone we’re excited to be working in tandem with the football club to bring the FanZone back to Oakwell. The support for Redfearn’s Bar from our supporters has been immense over the last few years, and we look forward to welcoming them back for the crucial game on Saturday.
“All profits made from both our bar and Barnsley FC’s bar at the Reading game will be donated to the Drinkers for Ukraine appeal, which aims to raise funds for the Red Cross humanitarian relief effort in Ukraine following the Russian invasion in February 2022.”
Marketing, Commercial and Business Director, Andrew Clark, added: “It’s been a long time coming and we’re pleased to welcome the FanZone back. We are aware of how popular the site has been in previous years and we look forward to getting back to those levels in the coming weeks.
“The Club must thank Ben Lockwood, Paul Hicks, Paul Gallagher and the rest of the team from the Supporters Trust for the continued time and effort that they put into this matchday project.”
