Sitting down with iFollow Barnsley, our latest summer addition, James Norwood, spoke of his excitement at the prospect of what's in store this coming season.
Joining the Reds on Saturday afternoon, a free transfer following his Ipswich Town exit earlier in the summer, James Norwood is not your typical Barnsley FC acquisition, or at least, not in recent years.
31-years-old, the Eastbourne native becomes the oldest Reds signing since Danny Wilson brought Liam Lawrence to the Club back in 2014.
"I'd like to think I'm experienced!" Norwood laughed, when asked during his first interview since putting pen to paper on an initial 12-month deal.
"I've played a lot of games in my career, albeit a little less in the last couple of seasons, but I've come here to play as many games as possible, hopefully a full season under my belt and obviously, go for promotion."
The attraction of the Club itself was big for James in terms of the pull, as was the appointment of Michael Duff as our Head Coach.
"I have come across him a number of times over the years. He gets his teams playing good football, they work hard and the way he sets his team up, you're going to get opportunities to score as a striker.
"He's had a great career, and I'm looking forward to working under him, and to try and helpp guide what is a young squad here as we know.
"This is a big club. I wanted to play somewhere with a similar stature to Ipswich, and this is definitely that. I'm excited to get started and I'm proud to wear the shirt."
