An opportunity has arisen at Barnsley Football Club’s Academy for families to offer host accommodation for our apprentice footballers for the 22/23 season.
We are particularly looking for families in the Barnsley area who feel they are able to provide a stable and positive environment for 16-18-year olds who are moving away from home for the first time. Suitable hosts would be required to complete a Criminal Record Check in line with current regulations as well as being interviewed by the Club. Potential accommodation providers would also be subject to suitability checks and regular visits from the Club's Safeguarding Officer and Head of Education & Welfare.
The players will require their own room, although a room share would be considered if more than one player can be housed, and must be provided with breakfast and an evening meal which meets the nutritional demands of a professional athlete. Full training and guidance will be given with regards to these demands.
The Club is committed to equal opportunities as well as safeguarding, promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults. Applicants for the role of host accommodation will need to demonstrate they are able to share this commitment.
