Barnsley FC and Reds in the Community will be collecting donations for Barnsley Foodbank on Saturday afternoon.
Following the success of the Christmas appeal, Reds fans are once again encouraged to support the Barnsley Foodbank ahead of this weekend’s Sky Bet Championship game against AFC Bournemouth, with Skipper, Cauley Woodrow, leading the way.
Cauley said: “We are a community club and we know the difference that we, as a united group, can make to our community. The Foodbank make a big difference and the work they have done over the last few months is well documented. I’m proud that the Club have this association with Barnsley Foodbank and a huge thank you to all that donate.”
Paul France, Reds in the Community Chief Executive Officer will be manning the collection bins on Saturday and added: “Hundreds of supporters backed our campaign against hunger over Christmas and I would like to thank everybody for that. Of course, we wish that we didn’t have to host foodbank collections, but whilst ever there is a need in the local area, this football club will support.”
Paul and his Reds in the Community team will be based outside the South Stand Main Reception from 1:30pm on Saturday afternoon to offer fans more information about the foodbank and to collect items.
