Reds in the Community and Barnsley Foodbank will be back at Oakwell collecting donations ahead of today's game.
With the cost of living increasing all the time, the number of families in our town forced to rely on foodbanks is also rapidly growing.
Following success in two previous collections, Barnsley FC are once again hosting a foodbank collection at Oakwell this afternoon, prior to our Sky Bet Championship clash against Middlesbrough.
Paul France, Reds in the Community's Chief Executive Officer, will be manning the collection bins himself on Saturday and said: "Perhaps now more than ever, the local community must be united, stay together and look after one another. We’ve had a tremendous response to this campaign over the last few months and we sincerely hope that you are in a position to show your generosity and community once more this weekend.”
If you plan on donating this weekend, urgently needed items include: dilute/juice, rice, custard, long life milk, tinned meat, rice pudding, packet/instant potato, jam, tinned fish, toothpaste, toothbrushes, nappies size 6, 7, 8+ and shampoo.
Please help if you can, Reds!
