PRE-MATCH | WYCOMBE WANDERERS

18 August 2022

Ahead of our Sky Bet League One clash with Wycombe Wanderers at Oakwell on Saturday, Michael Duff and Jack Aitchison spoke to the press to preview the fixture.

MICHAEL DUFF...

...ON INJURIES

"He [Nicky Cadden] was close last week, so hopefully he'll be in contention.

"He's a good bit off yet. We're not expecting to see Mich anytime in the next couple of weeks, unfortunately.

"It's frustrating for him because it seems like it's niggle after niggle for him. We want to see him because he's a good player.

"Herbie's on the grass now, he's getting closer. So hopefully, he'll be available in the next couple of weeks as well."

...ON BRISTOL ROVERS RESULT

"It was good the other night. That's what it was, just one performance. Let's not carried away with ourselves. A good performance off the back of a good second half at Derby, I thought we pressed them well as well.

"I thought we were good with the ball as well. It wasn't all out of possession, there were some good passages of play. We created some really good clear-cut chances.

"It's doing the same again, that's what you've got to try and replicate."

...ON DEVANTE COLE

"The players have been good. The players have been receptive to new information and a new voice. Come in, listen, work hard and try and improve.

"We work with them every day to try and improve them, try and improve ourselves and get more performances like Tuesday night."

...ON WYCOMBE

"Good team. They got out of the league a couple of years ago and were unlucky in the play-offs last year.

"They've got a manager that knows the level inside out, they've got good experience, you can't get away from that.

"It's a Gareth Ainsworth team, they'll be hard to play against."

JACK AITCHISON...

...ON BRISTOL ROVERS GAME

"It all comes down to hard work on the pitch, doing the basics well. We've heard the manager speak about that all the time, and getting into good habits on the training pitch and the stadium pitch in front of the fans."

...ON WYCOMBE WANDERERS

"I've played Wycombe before. From what I've watched and seen before, I think it'll be quite a physical, tough game; quite demanding.

"It's one we're looking forward to and try and get another three points."

...ON GAME TIME THIS SEASON

"All I did in pre-season was work really hard and I left the manager with a decision. I try and give my all on the pitch for the players, the fans and coaching staff and they've rewarded me with a couple of games so it's down to me to keep going.

...ON HOME FORM

"I've really enjoyed the last few games at home, the fans have been brilliant. It's like having an extra man on the pitch, we're grateful for your support and hopefully, we can just keep doing it."
