JAMES NORWOOD PREVIEWS TRIP TO PORTMAN ROAD

26 August 2022

The striker spoke to the press ahead of our trip to Ipswich Town on Saturday as we return to Sky Bet League One action at Portman Road.

ON RETURNING TO IPSWICH

"It's a beautiful fixture for me, being so early. Obviously, it's my old team, big stadium, they're doing well - so it's a great opportunity for us.

"We've got to go out, set a stall out and try and get three points."

ON FORM SO FAR THIS SEASON

"I'm playing catch-up at the minute.

"I've only been here just over a month. For me, it's trying to get minutes on the pitch and start getting the rust off. I don't think I've too many shots as of yet, I'm slightly off the pace when the ball is coming into me.

"In front of goal, I think my movement is a little bit, maybe 10-20% off at the moment. I think when I get fully match-sharp and ready, people will see the reason why I've been signed."

ON GOALSCORING RECORD IN CAREER

"I pride myself on being a one in two striker over the last six or seven years.

"That's sort of the target you look for as a forward. I'm a big believer of goals to minutes ratios, rather than games. I'll be looking to get one around the 180 minute mark, if not better."

ON WORKING WITH MICHAEL DUFF

"He's fantastic.

"Obviously, I spoke to him in the summer before joining and he really sold his dream and what he wanted to do for the club and how he wanted to play.

"As a striker, when you've got a manager that wants to create chances for the forwards and you see that in training.

"It's one thing to say something to get someone to get them into a club, but when you back it up in training and see what he's trying to do for the strikers, it's a great feeling."
