MICHAEL DUFF REFLECTS ON WYCOMBE CONTEST

21 August 2022

The 44-year old reacted to a disappointing day at the office for the Reds after a 3-0 loss to Wycombe Wanderers at Oakwell on Saturday.

"I thought there was nothing in it, until they scored," Duff began.

"I actually thought we were the better team until they scored, their keeper has made three or four fantastic saves. They've scored in the first half with their only shot on the target.

"The disappointment is that after that we never looked like getting back in the game."

Following on from our victory against Bristol Rovers on Tuesday night, the defeat this weekend is a stark contrast; and Duff believes hard work is the key ingredient to building consistency.

"Hard work; time," he asserted. "Time on the training ground. They're a young group, they've been old-schooled a little bit today.

"There's no entitlement, there's not a 'oh we're at home, we'll win'. We've tried to drum it into them. We were ok, without being brilliant, for the first 30 or 45 minutes, but then in the second half we capitulated a little bit."
