A 3-0 win and a clean sheet, it was a good evening's work for Robbie Cundy at Oakwell on Tuesday evening.
Two first-half goals from Devante Cole and Jordan Williams set the Reds on their way, with Josh Benson adding a spectacular third in front of the Ponty End in the second half.
"Yeah, couldn't ask for more really," Cundy began. "The boys were top draw tonight - from the front to the back. Defending, winning second balls, everything really.
"I think we fully deserved that win."
A rainy night under the lights is the 'proper' center-half's meat and gravy, and our summer recruit enjoyed conditions in South Yorkshire on Tuesday evening.
"You've got to live for nights like these," he smiled. "I was just saying then, we came out for the warm-up and it was perfect conditions. Then we came out of the tunnel for the game and it was torrential!
"You've just got to get one with these things, but yeah, perfect night for slide tackles and things like that. You've got to enjoy defending, and I did that tonight."
Tuesday evening signalled our second home win out of two so far this campaign, and this is something Cundy believes the Reds can build on throughout this season.
"We dominated tonight, especially the first 30 minutes," added Cundy. "We've got to make this a hard place to come. We've got two wins here now, and we're doing that currently and we've got to keep on top of that and just keep getting wins."
