BARNSLEY FOOTBALL CLUB X BARNSLEY FOODBANK

5 August 2022

Barnsley Football Club are proud to be hosting Barnsley Foodbank at our home Saturday games this season.

Supporters will have the opportunity to donate food supplies to the Foodbank via bins that will be situated in our FanZone in the East Stand Car Park.

The Foodbank have a list of the food items needed most urgently:

Tinned/Packet Potatoes

Tinned Meat

Gravy Granules

Rice Pudding

Tinned Spaghetti/Hoops

Tea/Coffee

Rice

Shower Gel

Toothbrushes

Toothpaste

Shampoo

Last season saw us host numerous food collection points throughout the season at Oakwell and Reds supporters demonstrated once again their kindness and generosity throughout the 21/22 campaign.

With the sad rise in dependence on food banks, we wanted to continue to show our support for a local charity whose work is invaluable in our community.

Marketing, Business and Commercial Director, Andrew Clark added: “We are proud to be in a position to support our community and we must thank the Barnsley supporters for their continued support for this cause.

“Whilst it is disappointing that food banks are a necessity, Suzanne and her team at the Foodbank work tirelessly and I hope the platform that we will provide this season will aid that cause.

“We must reiterate our thanks to our community who displayed their kindness with their donations. If people are in a position to help and donate, please rally round once again.”

Suzanne Storey, Barnsley Foodbank Manager, said: “We are extremely thankful to Barnsley Football Club for hosting us on matchdays and for the supporters who have kindly donated food supplies already.

“Any donations are gratefully received to help feed the people of Barnsley who are currently in crisis. This move is just part of our ongoing partnership with Barnsley FC and hope it will go from strength to strength in the future.

“Thank you once again to everyone who has donated and to the football club for their support, it is appreciated.”
