IMPORTANT SAFETY MESSAGE

29 April 2022

Barnsley Football Club takes the safety of supporters, players, staff and match officials extremely seriously with a zero-tolerance approach to any incursions onto the pitch at Oakwell.

As is traditional here, following the conclusion of our final home fixture of this 21/22 season against Preston North End on Saturday (12.30pm KO), the first team players and staff would like to show their appreciation to supporters for their backing during what has been a challenging campaign.

For this to take place, we will need supporters to remain in the stands. The players and staff will not return to show their appreciation if supporters are on the playing surface.

The Club is therefore calling on Reds fans to respect the ground regulations and consider the potential wider consequences of such action to themselves and the Club.

The safety of players, staff, fans and match officials is of paramount importance and supporters who encroach on the pitch risk a potential banning order as well as a criminal conviction, while the Club could also face a fine.

Thank you for your support, Reds.
